The artists involved in the talk will be <strong>Alda Mohr Ey\u00f0unard\u00f3ttir<\/strong>, <strong>Anna R\u00fan Tryggvad\u00f3ttir<\/strong> and <strong>Tadashi Ono<\/strong>. The event will be in Icelandic and English.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition features the work of seven artists. Many of them were brought up on islands and all of them come from countries where the sea is one of the wellsprings of society; at once, a way out into the wider world, and a barrier to what lies beyond. They have all stood by the sea, suspended in their powerlessness and strength.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alda Mohr Ey\u00f0unard\u00f3ttir<\/strong> (1997) was born and raised in Torshavn, Faroe Islands, and is a student at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. She has been featured in several group exhibitions at the Faroe Islands National Gallery, the Nordic House in the Faroe Islands and the North Atlantic House in Copenhagen. In 2019, Ey\u00f0unard\u00f3ttir had her first solo exhibition in Torshavn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anna R\u00fan Tryggvad\u00f3ttir<\/strong> (1980) lives and works in Iceland and in Berlin. She studied at the Iceland University of the Arts and Concordia University in Montr\u00e9al, Canada. Tryggvad\u00f3ttir has had several solo exhibitions in both Iceland and Germany, including at the Kunstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin, and Reykjav\u00edk Art Museum, as well as exhibiting in group exhibitions across Europe and in Mexico City and Buenos Aires. In 2021, Tryggvad\u00f3ttir was awarded the Gu\u00f0munda Kristinsd\u00f3ttir Art Prize as an outstanding Icelandic Woman Artist.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tadashi Ono<\/strong> (1960) was born in Tokyo, but he now lives and works in Paris and Arles, France. After studying ecology and botany, he graduated with an MA degree in art photography from \u00c9cole nationale sup\u00e9rieure de la photographie in Arles. Ono\u2019s works have been exhibited at the Biblioth\u00e8que nationale de France, the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, Kyotographie Festival and the Rencontres internationals de la photographie d\u2019Arles, among other places.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sigr\u00fan Alba Sigur\u00f0ard\u00f3ttir<\/strong> is an independent curator and scholar, working in Iceland and Denmark. In recent years, she has curated exhibitions at the National Gallery of Iceland, the L\u00c1 Art Museum, the Reykjav\u00edk Museum of Photography and Fotografisk Center, Copenhagen.
