The workshop will explore various techniques, such as woodcuts, block printing and silk screening, but the instructors will be <strong>Anna Sn\u00e6d\u00eds Sigmarsd\u00f3ttir<\/strong> and <strong>El\u00edsabet Stef\u00e1nsd\u00f3ttir<\/strong>. Participation is free of charge and all materials will be provided. The workshop is presented in connection with the exhibition <em>Solander 250: Letters from Iceland<\/em>, which is currently on view at the museum, in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden in Iceland and the Icelandic Printmakers Association.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition <em>Solander 250: Letters from Iceland<\/em> is held to commemorate the visit of Swedish naturalist Daniel Solander to Iceland in 1772, 250 years ago. Among the things Solander and his fellow travellers recorded in Iceland were nature, culture, traditions and clothing styles. In their work, ten Icelandic artists have now interpreted these events, as well as how the nation and the country have changed since then. Also on view at the museum is the exhibition <em>Paradise Lost \u2013 Daniel Solander\u2019s Legacy<\/em>, which similarly commemorates Solander\u2019s travels, in this case, to the Pacific in 1769, but both exhibitions will travel around Iceland, following their showing at Hafnarborg.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Everyone cordially welcome.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday September 17th at 1 p.m., Hafnarborg invites guests to attend a print workshop, where participants will be able to create their own prints with guidance from professional artists.
