{"id":12129,"date":"2023-12-19T19:41:05","date_gmt":"2023-12-19T19:41:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/old.hafnarborg.is\/?post_type=event&#038;p=12129"},"modified":"2023-12-19T20:16:59","modified_gmt":"2023-12-19T20:16:59","slug":"landscape-for-the-chosen-ones-performance-by-sol-hansdottir","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/old.hafnarborg.is\/en\/event\/landscape-for-the-chosen-ones-performance-by-sol-hansdottir\/","title":{"rendered":"Landscape for the Chosen Ones \u2013 Performance by S\u00f3l Hansd\u00f3ttir"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Thursday December 28th at 3 p.m.<\/strong>, a few days before the new year, <strong>S\u00f3l Hansd\u00f3ttir<\/strong>, fashion designer and one of the participants in Hafnarborg\u2019s autumn exhibition <em>Landscape for the Chosen Ones<\/em>, will present a performance at the museum in connection with her work in the exhibition, titled <em>Series of Studies on the Nature of Being: The Egg<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The performance deals with the traditional idea of The Chicken and the Egg, a representation of an ancient folk paradox addressing the problem of origin, first cause and the infinite sequence. This includes the exploration of the delimitation of realities and is centred around three different realities. The dominant one is challenged throughout the performance by a small disruptive reality seemingly competing for dominance.<\/p>\n<p>These realities have connections to an urgent conversation on anthropocentrism, questioning whose reality is the dominant one. That is to realise that humans are part of a complex and fluid interdependent system, as the performance can be seen as an invitation to reconfigure our existence, redirect our attention and reconnect to others \u2013 humans, non-humans, technology and ecosystems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>S\u00f3l Hansd\u00f3ttir<\/strong> (b. 1994) graduated with an MA in fashion design from Central Saint Martins, London, in 2021. In her work, she often reuses material from her surroundings, creating spiralling garments crafted with utmost simplicity and intuition. Her graduate collection, <em>Three Theories of Evil<\/em>, was awarded the L\u2019Or\u00e9al Professionel Creative Award.
