Hlynur studied at the School of Visual Arts in Akureyri and in Art and Crafts Academy of Iceland before he went to study abroad in Germany where he received his master&#8217;s degree in 1997. Hlynur has served in the Parliament and is now director of the Akureyri Art Museum.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition <em>MEN<\/em>\u00a0focuses on the status of men at the beginning of the 21st century and the changes that have occurred in the circumstances of the revised status of women.\u00a0The works in the exhibition raise important questions about masculinity and potentially conflicting signals from the environment and society. The key characteristic of these works, however, is the intimacy that can be read from the position of the artists to the family and the child and in some pieces there can be distinguished existential crisis.\u00a0Works by four Icelandic male artists are\u00a0on display, Curver Thoroddsen (b. 1976), Finnur Arnar Arnarson (b. 1965), Hlynur Hallsson (b. 1968) og Kristinn G. Har\u00f0arson (b. 1955).
