There, <strong>\u00c1g\u00fasta Krist\u00f3fersd\u00f3ttir<\/strong>, curator and former director of Hafnarborg, will lead guests through the exhibition, shedding light on the life and works of the artist.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition is presented in collaboration with the Akureyri Art Museum and the Thorvaldur Thorsteinsson Estate. At the exhibition, a wide variety of works will be presented: sculptures, installation pieces, paintings and video works that are representative of this dynamic artist and the way that he related to society. The exhibition is curated by \u00c1g\u00fasta Krist\u00f3fersd\u00f3ttir, Gu\u00f0r\u00fan P\u00e1l\u00edna Gu\u00f0mundsd\u00f3ttir and Helena J\u00f3nsd\u00f3ttir.<\/p>\n<p class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql\"><strong>\u00deorvaldur \u00deorsteinsson<\/strong> was a productive artist and teacher who made use of most art mediums in his career. In addition to creating visual artwork he wrote novels, plays, poetry and music, becoming well known in Iceland for\u00a0<em>Vasaleikh\u00fasi\u00f0<\/em>\u00a0(<em>The Pocket Theatre<\/em>), a play performed on the Icelandic National Radio in 1991 and later on television. His novel\u00a0<em>Skilabo\u00f0askj\u00f3\u00f0an<\/em>\u00a0(<em>The Message Pouch<\/em>) was also an instant success when it was published in 1986 and was later dramatized and performed at The National Theatre of Iceland, as a musical in 1993.
